Daniel Thiemert holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Reading, with a thesis in the area of Media Forensics Technology. He completed his studies in Computer Sciences in 2006 at the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Koethen, Germany with a dissertation titled “Implementation and Optimisation of two Strategies for Ensuring the Integrity of Digital Videos of Type MPEG-I/II”.  He has a background in IT-Security, especially in Multimedia Security. Before joining the ISR in September 2006 he was working at the Fraunhofer IPSI in Darmstadt, Germany, in the area of digital watermarks for video and audio data. His current research interests involve security, context awareness, multimedia processing, technology enhanced learning and ambient assistive living (AAL).
