Dr. Tillman Weyde is a senior lecturer at the Department of Computing at the City University London.  He holds degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Musicology and has been working in the field of intelligent multimedia information systems.  His research interests particularly focus on music analysis using machine learning, music representation, and e-learning. The software system 'Computer Courses in Music - Ear Training' of which he is co-author was awarded the Comenius Medal for exemplary educational media in the year 2000.

Dr. Weyde was a contributor to the development of a standard for Symbolic Music Representation within the MPEG-4 framework.
