Panagiota Antonakaki holds a degree in Computer Sciences and a Ph.D. in the field of Video Processing. She has completed her studies in Computer Sciences in 2005 at the University of Athens, Greece with a dissertation titled “Segmentation of Document Pages”. Her Ph.D. research was funded by a European scholarship (PENED), within the research programme for Supervision Manual Processes and Extraction of Semantic Knowledge, and it was completed on 2011.
Before joining ISR she was a Research Assistant at the University of Bristol working for the FP7 project CompLACS as a member of Pattern Analysis and Intelligence Systems Group. Her work there was based on large scale analysis of news-media content and the development of intelligent systems using machine learning methods.
Her current research interests include computer vision, machine learning and video analysis.
